Score Counter

Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 August 2026

These terms apply to score-counter.com. Score Counter is an independent hobby project operated by an individual in India and is referred to as “Score Counter”, “we”, or “us”. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Please keep your own backup of anything important. Score Counter stores games in your browser, not in an account or cloud backup. We cannot recover scores or history that your browser removes.

1. The service

Score Counter is a free, general-purpose web app for keeping scores in board games, card games, sports, and other activities. No account is required. Features may change over time, and some features may depend on browser support, network availability, or third-party services.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to agree to these terms. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, use Score Counter with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Local data and backups

Game settings, players, scores, history, saved players, and presets are generally stored in local browser storage. We do not receive that game data or keep a server backup. Local data may be lost when you clear browser data, use private browsing, change browser or device, or when the browser removes storage. You are responsible for separately recording information that you cannot afford to lose.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

5. Information you submit

You are responsible for information you voluntarily send through contact or mobile-interest forms and must have the right to provide it. You allow us to use that information as needed to receive, review, and respond to your request. Our Privacy Policy explains how it is handled.

6. Privacy and third-party services

Optional analytics is governed by your separate privacy choice, not by accepting these terms. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using the score counter. The service also relies on providers for functions such as hosting, security, fonts, and user-requested form storage. Those services may be governed by their providers’ terms and privacy practices.

7. Third-party links

The service may link to external websites for convenience. We do not control or endorse those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, products, or privacy practices. You use external websites at your own discretion and under their terms, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you.

8. Suggestions and feedback

If you voluntarily send non-confidential suggestions or feedback, you confirm that you have the right to share them and give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to use, adapt, and incorporate them to operate or improve this hobby project without payment. This does not transfer ownership of unrelated material. Personal information included with feedback remains governed by the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Score Counter name, design, text, and software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. This does not transfer ownership or permit you to resell, reproduce, or distribute the service except where the law expressly allows it.

Game names and third-party marks belong to their respective owners. Score Counter is an independent general-purpose tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by game publishers.

10. Availability, changes, and suspension

We may maintain, update, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We do not promise continuous availability or compatibility with every browser or device. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, maintenance, or a material breach of these terms.

11. Events beyond our reasonable control

To the extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for delay or unavailability caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including provider outages, internet failures, natural disasters, governmental action, labour disruption, or similar events.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Score Counter is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, permanently available offline, or suitable for a particular competition or purpose. Verify important scores and settle disputed results independently.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss, or for lost scores, data, history, profits, or goodwill resulting from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Governing law and mandatory local rights

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts with jurisdiction in India may hear disputes, but this does not remove any mandatory consumer protection, privacy right, or forum available to you under the law of the country or region where you live.

15. General terms

Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they expressly reference form the entire agreement about your use of Score Counter. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, but optional Analytics consent remains a separate choice.

Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue.

No waiver. A failure or delay in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

Assignment. We may assign these Terms as part of a lawful transfer of the project. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent where applicable law permits that restriction.

Survival. Provisions that by their nature should continue after your use ends, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, will survive.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate. Continued use after the revised terms take effect means you accept them.
